Who we are

Viva Voce is made by Voz y Vida Studio, 1968 S. Coast Hwy #6007, Laguna Beach, CA 92651. Questions about this page, or about anything we hold about you, go to hello@vivavoce.ink, or by post to that address.

When you join the launch list

We keep:

• Your email address.
• Your first name, if you give it.
• What you write, if you tell us.
• Whether you're a veteran, a first responder or a student, if you tell us, so we can honour that discount.
• Where you found us (for example, the code at an event), when the link you followed says so.
• Your personal launch code for the discount, and whether we have emailed it to you.
• When you joined, and whether our welcome email went out.

We use these to tell you about Viva Voce's launch and to give you the discount you signed up for. Nothing else.

To stop one connection flooding the list, we count signups from each internet connection over ten minutes. We count a scrambled, one-way form of the connection's address, never the address itself.

When you write to us

The contact form keeps your name, your email, the topic and your message, with your internet address and a note of which browser you used, to deal with spam. The message is also emailed to us so we can reply.

Who handles it for us

• Google (Firebase) hosts this site and stores the launch list and messages, in the United States.
• Resend sends our emails: the welcome email, news about the launch, and your messages to us.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser asks Google for them, as it does on most sites.

They handle it only to run those services for us. We never sell your information, never share it for advertising, and never use anything you give us to train an AI.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. It doesn't follow you around the web.

How long we keep it

The launch list is kept until Viva Voce opens and for as long as your launch discount applies, unless you ask us to remove you sooner. Messages are kept while we deal with them, and deleted when you ask.

Your choices

At any time you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email from us, choose "Remove me from the launch list" on the contact page, or write to hello@vivavoce.ink. We'll do it and tell you when it's done.

These choices are yours wherever you live. If you're in California, the EU or the UK, the law gives you these rights as well, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Viva Voce is for writers, not for children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

When this page changes, so does the date below.
